About the Role


We are seeking an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to drive growth initiatives for our cutting-edge Smart Metering software solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a robust understanding of utility operations and relevant software ecosystems such as Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS), Head-End Systems (HES), energy data analytics, and third-party integrations. This leadership role will spearhead growth strategies, business case modeling, and P&L management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage decision-makers in utilities, DISCOMs, OEMs, and SI ecosystems, targeting both domestic and international markets.
  • Prepare ROI-centric business cases and tailor value propositions to specific client operations.
  • Build and sustain a strong sales pipeline for MDMS, HES, energy analytics, AMI integration platforms, and SaaS offerings.
  • Take ownership of revenue targets and margin goals for the smart metering software business.
  • Forge and lead partnerships with system integrators and start-ups to enhance software reach and integration.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and working groups to increase brand visibility and thought leadership.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Computer Science/Electronics.
  • Strong financial acumen with proven ability to build business cases, develop pricing models, and manage budgets.
  • 10-15 years

    of industry experience, with at least 3 years in smart metering, utility SaaS, or energy systems.
  • Demonstrated success in B2B sales/business development for SaaS or analytics solutions targeting utility/energy clients.
  • Solid experience in presentation, negotiation, and client management.
  • Market research skills: ability to analyze market share, trends, and upcoming growth opportunities in priority geographies.
  • Prior experience with DISCOMs or SI partners in India or emerging markets (preferred).
