Role Overview:

Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across retail, institutional (B2B), and e-commerce channels.
  • Create and implement commercial strategies to expand brand presence in India and targeted regions.
  • Lead feasibility assessments and develop execution plans for entry into new markets or segments.
  • Drive revenue through strategic product positioning, pricing, and planning.
  • Track and analyze sales performance using KPIs; implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Manage the complete product lifecycle and recommend range adjustments based on insights.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key institutional clients and retail partners.
  • Negotiate and secure long-term commercial contracts to support scalability.
  • Oversee budgets, revenue forecasts, and profitability of assigned business units or categories.
  • Ensure effective demand planning, stock availability, and cost control across channels.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, marketing, and finance for seamless operations.
  • Lead and mentor internal teams to meet commercial objectives and foster performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to deliver a cohesive go-to-market strategy.
  • Support CRM implementation, AI tools, and digital initiatives to optimize sales processes.
  • Integrate online and offline customer journeys for a consistent brand experience.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and new growth areas.
  • Provide actionable insights to guide product development, pricing, and promotional decisions.

Key Requirements:

  • 5–7 years of experience in business development / Strategic Sales preferably in sportswear, apparel, or related industries
  • Proven ability to open new markets and close deals
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of brand positioning and value-driven selling
  • Comfortable with travel, both domestic and international
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a results-oriented approach
