Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) with in-depth expertise in navigating the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Portal and responding to tenders. This position requires an individual who is well-versed in the intricacies of government procurement processes, tendering, and leveraging the GeM portal to secure new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, strategic partnerships, and a deep understanding of the end-to-end tendering and bidding processes.Key Responsibilities:Tender Management & GeM Portal Expertise:Monitor and identify relevant government tenders through the GeM portal and other procurement platforms.Prepare, submit, and manage bids and tenders to ensure timely and accurate responses in compliance with all specifications.Stay updated on GeM Portal updates, guidelines, and procurement trends to effectively manage the company’s presence and opportunities.Handle the complete end-to-end tendering process, including pre-qualification, documentation, bid preparation, submission, and post-submission follow-up.Business Development & Strategy:Identify new business opportunities, both from government and private sector clients, through the GeM portal, tenders, and RFPs.Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within government agencies, public sector organizations, and other relevant sectors.Develop a comprehensive business development strategy that includes identifying, bidding on, and winning tenders that align with the company's growth objectives.Conduct market research to identify new trends, competitor activity, and areas for business expansion.Client Relationship Management:Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the tender process, ensuring clear communication and high levels of customer satisfaction.Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, finance, and operations, to ensure bids and tenders are accurate, compliant, and aligned with company capabilities.Negotiate terms and conditions with clients and procurement bodies, ensuring favorable contract agreements.Documentation & Compliance:Ensure all tender documents and submissions are complete, accurate, and comply with legal, financial, and technical requirements.Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all bids meet regulatory and contractual standards.Maintain organized records of all tenders and proposals, ensuring proper documentation for future reference.Reporting & Analytics:Track and report on the status of all active bids, including win/loss ratios, key insights, and actionable takeaways.Provide regular updates and forecasts on pipeline and tendering activities to senior management.
