Role Description

Business Development Manager (BDM)


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B enterprise software sales, preferably with insurance domain exposure.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets in the BFSI sector.
  • Strong understanding of the Indian insurance landscape and regulatory environment (IRDAI).
  • Familiarity with core insurance software such as policy administration systems, claims management, underwriting automation, and customer engagement platforms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel across regions as required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution

    :
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for selling insurance software solutions.
  • Identify and qualify new sales opportunities within the insurance ecosystem (Life, Health, General, Insurance Brokers).
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Client Engagement

    :
  • Engage with CXOs, IT heads, and business leaders in insurance companies to understand their pain points.
  • Present and demonstrate software solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Market Development

    :
  • Develop relationships with insurers, brokers, TPAs, and digital aggregators.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Proposal & Contracting

    :
  • Collaborate with pre-sales and technical teams to create solution proposals.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing to close business agreements.
  • Account Management

    :
  • Ensure client satisfaction and act as a point of contact for ongoing sales opportunities and upsells.
  • Drive client renewals and manage long-term strategic accounts.
