Role Overview

Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • International Market Expansion

  • Identify and evaluate new countries/markets for product entry based on company portfolio and registration feasibility.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitive intelligence to build expansion strategies.
  • Lead product registration initiatives by coordinating with regulatory teams across target regions.
  • Business Development & Licensing

  • Develop new buyers/distributors in ROW markets (LATAM, Africa, CIS, SE Asia).
  • Manage international licensing deals and tender participation.
  • Lead negotiations with clients, distributors, and institutional partners to maximize business opportunities.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong customer relationships by resolving queries, ensuring smooth documentation, and supporting logistics.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (Regulatory, Finance, Planning, Purchase, Logistics) for seamless execution.
  • Represent the company at international conferences, exhibitions, and trade fairs (e.g., CPHI, IPHEX).
  • Sales Forecasting & Planning

  • Forecast product demand and plan new product launches in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Drive revenue growth by strengthening existing partnerships and creating new business opportunities.
  • Team & Project Management

  • Lead and mentor junior business development staff.
  • Monitor distributor performance and track government tender opportunities in various regions.
  • Ensure timely submission of regulatory and commercial documentation.

Key Requirements

  • Education:

  • MBA in Pharmaceutical Marketing/Management (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s in Pharmacy or related life science degree.
  • Experience:

  • 8–12 years of experience in 

    pharma international business development

     (formulations).
  • Proven track record in licensing, international sales, and product registration processes.
  • Hands-on experience with 

    ROW markets

     (LATAM, Africa, CIS, Southeast Asia).
  • Skills:

  • Strong understanding of 

    pharma regulatory guidelines

     for international markets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally for client meetings, conferences, and market development.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and presentation skills.

Professional Achievements Desired

  • Opened new markets in LATAM, Africa, and Asia for pharmaceutical formulations.
  • Participated in global trade fairs (IPHEX, CPHI, BSM expos).
  • Successfully handled international tenders and secured government contracts.
