Position Title: Business Development Manager / Executives

Government Affairs & Market Growth

Location: Pune (Pan India)

Reporting to: Director Operations, GEOMETRIC

Function:

Strategic Growth, Government Relations, P&L Management

Sector Focus:

Softwares for Urban Development, Rural Development (e-Governance Projects)

Role Objective:

To establish and grow GEOMETRICs footprint by building high-trust relationships with senior officials in Urban Development, Rural Development, and other Departments. The Manager / Executive will drive visibility, partnerships, opportunity creation, and long-term revenue, acting as the organizations strategic ambassador and P&L owner for the region.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Government Relations & Market Entry

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to create a strong foothold for GEOMETRIC in e-governance market, identifying early wins and strategic partnerships.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key decision-makers and bureaucrats in Urban Development, Rural Development, Other Departments in respective states.
  • Track and analyse state-level policy, scheme rollouts, budget allocations, and tendering processes.
  • Represent GEOMETRIC at stakeholder consultations, departmental workshops, and official reviews.

2. Business Development & Pipeline Creation

  • Identify and qualify strategic opportunities in AMRUT, Smart Cities, SBM-U, Jal Jeevan Mission, PMAY (Urban & Rural), RDD digital platforms, etc.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the current and future e-governance needs and challenges of these departments, effectively positioning GEOMETRIC's solutions as the preferred choice.
  • Build an annual growth roadmap aligned to departmental schemes and funding flows.
  • Provide regular, insightful reports on market trends, competitive landscape, pipeline status, and financial performance to the CEO.

3. Strategic Visibility & Brand Building

  • Position GEOMETRIC as a thought leader in various states for e-Governance and digital public infrastructure space.
  • Initiate partnerships with local academic institutions, think tanks, and ecosystem players (PMUs, consultants, PSUs).
  • Own the narrative for Digital Transformation Partner for Viksit Maharashtra 2047.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance GEOMETRIC's visibility in the e-governance space, including participation in relevant forums, conferences, and industry events.

4. Regional P&L & Operations Oversight

  • Set up and manage the regional office operations from Pune.
  • Ensure quarterly revenue targets, BD conversion rates, and client satisfaction benchmarks are met.
  • BDM will lead a local team (as it grows), including BD associates and project support staff.
  • Take full ownership of the location's profit and loss (P&L), including revenue generation, cost management, and profitability targets.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Deep E-Governance Domain Expertise:
    Proven and in-depth, hands-on knowledge and substantial experience within the e-governance landscape of various regions. This includes a comprehensive understanding of government digital transformation initiatives, policy frameworks, technology adoption trends, and the intricacies of government procurement processes.
  • Exceptional Business Development in E-Governance:
    A progressive and successful experience specifically in business development, strategic alliances, and government relations within the e-governance sector. A demonstrated track record of initiating, negotiating, and closing significant e-governance projects with state and local government bodies.
  • Government Relations & Stakeholder Management:
    Proven ability to build, nurture, and leverage high-level relationships with key government officials, public sector undertakings, and other influential stakeholders in the UDD, RDD, and Other Departments. Confident, strategic communicator who can engage IAS officers, consultants, and CEOs with equal comfort.
  • P&L Management (BDM):
    Demonstrated experience in managing a business unit's P&L, with a clear understanding of financial metrics, revenue generation, cost control, and profitability targets.
  • Educational Qualification:
    Any Graduate / Post Graduate from a reputable institution and Masters in MBA or equivalent advanced degree will be advantageous.
  • Language Skills:
    Excellent Marathi + English communication; established network in Sarkari Karyalaya and allied departments is a plus.
