Business Development Intern – The Urban Chief Location: Remote Type: Internship | Duration: 6 Months Stipend: Month 1–3: Unpaid + Performance-based Incentives (on closed deals) Month 4–6: Paid Stipend + Ongoing Incentives on Closed Deals What You’ll Do Source high-quality leads via LinkedIn, Clutch, and other research platforms. Craft and send cold outreach via emails, LinkedIn DMs, and other channels. Make outbound calls to prospects and confidently pitch our offerings. Fix meetings with qualified leads and maintain follow-ups. Keep our CRM up to date (Notion, HubSpot, or Sheets). Assist in creating pitch decks, client proposals, and opportunity maps. Research client backgrounds, industries, and competitors ahead of sales calls. Identify collaboration and partnership opportunities in target markets. What You’ll Learn First-hand experience in outbound sales, from lead sourcing to deal closure. Exposure to real client calls, proposal discussions, and negotiation frameworks. Understanding of sales funnels, CRM hygiene, and BD playbooks. How to research and build ideal customer profiles (ICPs) across industries. Access to internal training, founder shadowing, and hands-on mini-projects. Insights into the startup ecosystem, partnerships, and founder conversations. Who You Are Proactive and persistent with great people skills (written + verbal). Interested in sales, partnerships, and startup growth. Comfortable with cold outreach and follow-ups across digital + phone channels. Organized, self-driven, and goal-oriented. Familiar with (or open to learning) tools like Notion, HubSpot, and LinkedIn Navigator. Compensation & Growth Performance Incentives: Earn bonuses on every deal closed (from Day 1). Progressive Structure: First 3 Months: Unpaid + Incentives Next 3 Months: Paid Stipend + Ongoing Incentives Letter of Recommendation + Monthly Performance Reviews.
