Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Business Development Intern to support our Diwali Corporate Gifting campaign. This role involves lead generation, client outreach, proposal management, and sales conversion with a strong focus on meeting targets within tight timelines. It is a fast-paced internship that offers exposure to corporate sales, client relationship management, and end-to-end business development processes.


Responsibilities -

Lead Generation

  • Identify and generate potential leads for Diwali corporate gifting.
  • Use cold calling, email campaigns, social media, and referrals.
  • Maintain a daily target of new leads contacted (e.g., 50 calls/day).

KPI:

  • Number of leads generated per week
  • Lead conversion ratio


Client Outreach & Cold Calling

  • Initiate calls to prospective clients to pitch Diwali gifting solutions.
  • Explain product offerings, pricing, and customizations clearly.
  • Follow up on previous interactions.

KPI:

  • Daily/weekly call volume
  • Quality score on call interactions (via monitoring)


Proposal & Quotation Management

  • Prepare and send customized proposals and quotations based on client needs.
  • Coordinate with the design and pricing team to ensure timely delivery.

KPI:

  • Number of proposals sent
  • Turnaround time on quote requests

Sales Conversion

  • Close deals with clients by handling objections and negotiating effectively.
  • Push for bulk orders before the Diwali deadline.

KPI:

  • Monthly sales/revenue target
  • Conversion rate from lead to order

CRM & Database Management

  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions and lead status in CRM.
  • Segment and tag clients appropriately (e.g., hot, warm, cold).

KPI:

  • CRM update accuracy
  • Client categorization efficiency

Coordination & Follow-ups

  • Coordinate with logistics, design, and fulfillment teams.
  • Ensure client orders are fulfilled as per commitment.

KPI:

  • On-time delivery success rate
  • Post-sale client satisfaction score

Skills Required

  • Strong communication and persuasion skills (verbal & written)
  • Confidence in cold calling and client interactions
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets & CRM tools
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
  • Problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Team coordination and follow-up ability


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s student or recent graduate (Business, Marketing, Commerce, or related field preferred)
  • Prior experience in sales, business development, or internships in a client-facing role is a plus
  • Passionate about sales and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
