Job Description

Job Summary:

The BMS Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, programming, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Building Management Systems that monitor and control mechanical and electrical systems in commercial, industrial, or residential buildings. This role ensures optimal building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.

Key Responsibilities:1. Installation & Commissioning

  • Install and configure BMS hardware, software, controllers, sensors, and field devices.
  • Conduct system testing and ensure integration with HVAC, lighting, fire alarms, access control, and other systems.
  • Perform commissioning, calibration, and fine-tuning of system parameters.

2. System Operation & Maintenance

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain BMS to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Perform software updates, backups, and restore procedures.

3. Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and resolve BMS-related faults, alarms, and communication errors.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients and facility teams.
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors for equipment servicing and repairs.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation including wiring diagrams, network architecture, and operation manuals.
  • Generate regular system performance reports and recommend improvements for efficiency.

5. Energy Management & Optimization

  • Monitor and analyze building energy consumption using BMS data.
  • Suggest and implement system modifications for improved efficiency and sustainability.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of BMS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Schneider, Delta).
  • Proficiency in HVAC systems, electrical controls, PLC/SCADA integration, and IoT-enabled solutions.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, KNX).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics.
  • Good communication skills for client and contractor coordination.

Education & Experience:

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant BMS engineering experience (entry-level possible with relevant training).
  • Certifications in BMS systems, HVAC, or automation are an advantage.

Work Environment:

  • On-site building facilities, client offices, or project locations.
  • May require shift work, travel between sites, and working in high-pressure situations to meet project deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Indore, Madhya Pradesh: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

  • BMS : 2 years (Preferred)
