Job Description

As a Bid Manager at Rackspace Technology in the Deal Hub, your role is vital for supporting the business with proposal and bid management. You will be responsible for bringing together the bid team to effectively respond to customer needs, managing medium to high-value opportunities of varying complexity simultaneously. Your timely delivery of high-quality proposals will significantly increase the business's success rate. Through efficient team management and clear project management processes, you can directly impact the success of bids. Your responsibilities will include: - Managing opportunities from bid qualification to contract award, utilizing your bid planning skills effectively. - Tracking and driving the bid team towards success through proposition development, solution review, commercial considerations, partner engagement, and risk management. - Utilizing your strong people management and commercial skills in this highly networked and deadline-driven role. You will also serve as the face of Bid Management, representing the team through thought leadership and industry best practices. Your role involves developing the Bid Management Function, maintaining positive brand awareness throughout Rackspace, and adapting to new challenges and customer requests to drive innovation. Key Qualifications for the role of Bid Manager at Rackspace Technology: - Proven capability in delivering winning product or complex services opportunities. - Background in solutions and services, with experience in bid campaign management. - Comfortable engaging with senior management both internally and externally. - Strong commercial understanding, P&L, and risk management skills. - Proficiency in internal governance procedures and customer dialogue. - Skills in literacy, MS Office tools, and other proposal management tools (e.g., RFP360, Adobe). - Quick learner with adaptability to new tools and technologies. - Commitment to brand integrity and ethical compliance in customer interactions. - Familiarity with Shipley methodology or equivalent approach. - Keen interest in technology and continuous learning through training and certification programs. Desired Attributes and Experience: - Impeccable organization skills and self-motivation. - Experience in bid sales cycles or bid processes. - Familiarity with Shipley or equivalent methodology. - Knowledge of Miller Heiman or equivalent sales strategies. - Degree-educated with essential MS Office skills. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Strong problem-solving abilities. - Passion for proposal development and writing. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Independent work ethic with collaborative teamwork skills. - Strong drive for success and continuous improvement.,
