Brief introduction - Role Summary/Purpose:
Become an integral member of the FP&A team at Colgate India, where you will be the financial steward for the Advertisement and Promotion(A&P) expenditure. This role demands a strong ability to partner with cross functional teams to plan, track, and optimize media investments. Own budget allocation, month-end close activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective use of A&P funds.
Responsibilities :
Budgeting and allocation
- Collaborate with Marketing, Brand, and Finance stakeholders to build and finalize the annual budget and review periodic LE (Latest Estimates)
- Allocate budgeted spend appropriately across Advertising and Promotion (A&P) categories and sub-brands
Spend management and reporting
- Regularly track and monitor media spend; ensure actuals are within approved budgets.
- Provide timely spend tracking, variance analysis, and actionable insights to stakeholders.
Month-end close and accounting
- Perform month-end close activities: post accounting entries, review/post accruals, and reconcile balances.
- Review open purchase orders (POs), manage Internal order (IO), and ensure proper cut-offs.
Controls and compliance
- Ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, and Colgate financial policies.
- Support Global Corporate audit, statutory, and internal audits; deliver accurate, timely documentation.
Process improvement
- Standardize and improve spend governance processes and reconciliation routines.
- Document key controls and closing procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- CA with minimum 2 years of experience
- Strong understanding of business and FP&A background
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as SAP, or similar systems.
