Job Description

As a Merchandising Manager, your role will involve conducting market research, collaborating with design teams, managing suppliers, developing budgets, overseeing production schedules, maintaining quality standards, and more. Here is a breakdown of your key responsibilities: - Conduct market research to identify current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and emerging styles. Analyse competitor products and pricing strategies. - Collaborate with design teams to develop new product lines and collections. Create line plans that align with market trends and brand strategy. - Identify and establish relationships with suppliers and manufacturers. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to optimize costs and quality. - Develop and manage budgets for each product line or collection. Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures. - Develop production schedules, coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery, and address any delays or production issues. - Set quality standards, conduct quality inspections, and oversee sample development process for mass production approval. - Implement inventory control strategies, forecast demand, and plan production accordingly. - Coordinate transportation, shipping, and delivery schedules. Manage import/export processes and ensure compliance with regulations. - Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of merchandisers. Foster a collaborative work environment. - Contribute to business and merchandising strategies. Make informed decisions on product assortment, pricing, and promotions. - Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders. Provide updates on order status and production progress. - Ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards in production processes. - Address complex production issues, propose solutions for efficiency and productivity. - Track production and sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and generate reports for management.
