Associate Director – Health & Benefits Consulting - RxPharmacists
What can you expect?
The Senior Pharmacy Clinical Pharmacy Consultant will lead the accurate and timely compilation of data and financial analysis on mid-sized and large, complex pharmacy projectsA significant part of this role is to be a key contributor for projects while developing and growing intellectual capital and driving operational efficienciesManages the scope, quality, timeliness of multiple client deliverables in researching, analyzing, and evaluating drug therapies, disease states, and pharmacy benefit plans and programs in the US. Learn and understands high level financials related to pharmacy benefit offerings, plan designs and assists with contract reviews.Reviews RFP outputs of clinical and formulary information gathered by the team, analyzes and interprets the results, edits and finalizes the executive summary report, and sends this report to the US team.Supports pharmacy and medical medication focused assessments and plan design diagnostics.Assists in developing/writing Summary Plan Documents for US based employers based on program decisions made by employers (crosswalk to be provided by US based colleagues).Assists with evaluation model development and maintenance for projects that involve both medical and pharmacy claim data.Organizes and maintains databases for employer clients and industry vendors.Develops and maintains personal and working relationships with key US team stakeholders facilitate the sharing of advice and information relevant to the client, developing new and expanded business.Creates or supports written industry points of view/blog posts/whitepapers/clinical reviews.Supports written responses for US based clients seeking information about Mercer’s US Pharmacy Team - Request for Proposal (RFP) response support.Continually evaluates processes looking for opportunities to automate or improve upon current workflow.With a growing understanding of the US healthcare system, provide clinical guidance on PBM/carrier programs and services.Helps to draft points of view and assists other clinicians on clinical reviews. Advises on the implication for plan sponsors on the release on new clinical studies, drug approvals, and guideline changes.Keeps up with US industry happenings, news, and new vendor offerings.Performs other research and analysis as related to the US prescription drug marketplace and industry.Guides and trains other local pharmacy team members and peer reviews their work.Acts as an advisor to junior staff for problem resolution and guidance on appropriate ways to deal with challenges.
We will count on you to
- Manage the day-to-day project management and support with the key members of the US pharmacy team
- Prepare project results for US pharmacy colleagues supporting clients, carriers, managed care entities and other related entities
- Work with the US based pharmacy colleagues to initiate projects. This may include meeting with the internal Mercer pharmacy team and in some occasions the client team from time to time, understand project scope, timelines and deliverables. You will develop and propose essential project documents, including the strategy, budget and work plans.
- Maintaining project documents and produce documents stating project results, including reports, charts and analyses
- Manage data and analytical work, summarizing claim experience and providing recommendations for employers
Note: Applicants should be flexible working in shifts and most work will be during normal local business hours.
What you need to have:
- Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
- Licensed pharmacist in country/state of residence
- Excellent project management and interpersonal skills
- Strong English oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience as a pharmacist
