Job Description

About the Role :

We are hiring for the role of Assistant Director Business Development to lead and scale our partnerships with organised merchants, including large retail chains, franchises, and national level brands. This role is a critical part of our merchant growth strategy and involves end-to-end ownership of acquisition, onboarding, relationship management, and revenue generation from high-value structured businesses.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development or partnerships within fintech, payments, or retail, with a proven ability to drive results, manage key accounts, and collaborate across cross-functional teams. The role demands a strategic mindset, excellent negotiation skills, and an execution-first approach. This is a high-impact position offering visibility to leadership and the opportunity to play a key role in shaping MobiKwiks footprint

in the organised merchant ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and onboard large organised merchants (retail chains, QSRs, franchises, etc.) across geographies.
  • Own end-to-end relationship management onboarding, integration, go-live, and growth.
  • Drive GMV, transaction volumes, and revenue through strategic use cases like payments, BNPL, and loyalty solutions.
  • Structure and negotiate commercials, contracts, and performance-based engagement models.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Tech, Risk, Finance, Legal) to deliver on merchant expectations.
  • Monitor merchant performance using dashboards and data tools; generate insights to drive growth.
  • Resolve operational and technical issues promptly to ensure a seamless merchant experience.
  • Stay updated on market trends and competitor offerings; feed inputs to enhance product-market fit
  • Support or lead a small team (as applicable) to expand merchant coverage and drive execution.

Requirements:

  • 1215 years of experience in B2B sales, partnerships, or merchant acquisition, preferably in fintech, payments, e-commerce, or retail.
  • Proven track record in managing large/organised merchants and delivering business growth (GMV, revenue, retention).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams Product, Tech, Ops, Risk, Legal, Finance.
  • Solid understanding of digital payments, merchant systems (POS, QR, UPI), and fintech products like BNPL or loyalty.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven, and evolving environment.
  • Bachelors degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
