Associate Data Engineer

Job Description (JD) 

Job Title: Associate Data Engineer – Database & Optimization (Grade 1) 

Department: Product Engineering / Data Engineering 

Reports To: Systems Lead 

Location: Gurgaon 

Employment Type: Full-time 

Skills Required

• Fundamental understanding of SQL syntax, basic joins, and CRUD operations. 
• Exposure to relational database concepts (tables, keys, constraints). Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc 
• Awareness of ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) process steps. 
• Basic programming or scripting familiarity (Node.js/Python / Shell / PowerShell). 
• Good logical reasoning and attention to detail for data validation. 
• Ability to learn new tools quickly and follow documented processes. 
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with mentors. 

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in creating and managing databases. 
• Support data loading, cleaning, and validation activities. 
• Execute routine queries and generate simple data reports. 
• Maintain documentation for datasets, tables, and relationships. 
• Participate in internal training and shadowing sessions to build core competency. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Data Analytics, or related field. 
• 0–1 year experience / fresh graduate with project or internship exposure to SQL or databases. 
• Certifications in SQL Basics / Data Foundations (preferred but not mandatory). 
• Certification or coursework in SQL, Python, or cloud data fundamentals preferred.
