Job Description

Job Purpose

The Regulatory Adherence Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that the Operations team in DBS Bank is in full compliance with all applicable regulations. This role involves a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, proactive identification and mitigation of compliance risks, and fostering a strong culture of adherence throughout Operations teams across Institutional and Consumer Banking.

Requirements:

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Perform independent assessment of adherence to existing regulations.
Monitor and analyse all new and amended regulations and regulatory guidelines issued by financial regulators (e.g., RBI, SEBI, IRDA, FIMMDA, FEDAI) and other relevant authorities (eg NSDL, CDSL).
Ensure that all new regulations are disseminated and assigned to the respective d partement heads in Operations for further assessment.
Collaborate with the various Operations teams to assess the impact of regulations and perform gap analysis.
Work with the Operations teams for relevant process enhancements and fixes and updation of the SOP documents wherever required.
Work with Technology teams to track that the tech solutions are implemented as per the regulatory ask in an accurate and timely manner.
Contribute to the incorporation of key regulatory risks into Units Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA)
Promote a strong regulatory compliance culture through various forms of communication, including training and awareness communications

Required Experience

Proven experience in regulatory compliance, or a related field within the financial services industry (10-15 years)
Should have strong knowledge of banking operations across Institutional and Consumer Banking.
In-depth knowledge of banking regulations, and guidelines, particularly those issued by relevant local regulatory bodies (RBI, SEBI etc).
Should have prior experience in reviewing and monitoring of regulations, regulatory returns and handling of regulatory audits.
