Role Purpose
The role is responsible provide technical expertise to the DB program by providing Oracle Database related advice and measure program performance through expertise covering DB planning, DB simulations, site recovery plans, DB training, DB exercises, regulatory compliance, current industry trends and DB best practices.
Role Accountability
- Manage the design, implementation, and communication of Oracle Database plans and processes that ensure the security and integrity of company data, databases, applications, information systems, and infrastructure technology
- Assist with high availability and disaster recovery setup (DR), Database Health Checks and optimizations, monitoring and management setup configuration
- Install, configure and maintain Oracle RAC Databases across Linux/Unix Platforms
- Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
- Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
- Perform database application, tuning and performance monitoring
- Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
- Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required
- Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
- Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support
- Patch Management and Version Control
- Manage, implement and maintain database design, backup and recovery
- Ensure adherence to regular process documentation practices in compliance with the process guidelines
Measures of Success
- Ensure daily readiness of DB sites to take over the complete production in case of any disaster and emergencies
- Lower cost of DB operations and readiness
- Periodic & timely reporting of DB Operations SLA matrices
- Effective vendor management and timely review of Service contracts
- Timely and accurate updation of process documentation
- Process Adherence as per MOU
Technical Skills / Experience / Certifications
Oracle Database Administration, backup & recovery, Troubleshooting, knowledge of RAC and DR Setup/ OCP DBA
