Job Purpose:

To support and assist the Production Manager in planning, supervising, and controlling all production activities in the solar module manufacturing line. Ensure that the production process runs efficiently, safely, and delivers high-quality modules while meeting daily, weekly, and monthly targets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management & Planning

• Assist in preparing and executing daily/weekly/monthly production schedules for the solar module line.
• Monitor production output, cycle times, yield, and ensure achievement of production targets.
• Coordinate with procurement, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure smooth line operations.

2. Process Control & Improvement

• Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and production guidelines.
• Monitor equipment parameters and take corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in capacity enhancement projects and automation initiatives.

3. Team Management

• Supervise line operators, technicians, and shift supervisors.
• Train and guide team members on process improvements, machine handling, and safety.
• Allocate manpower efficiently across shifts.

4. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure modules meet required quality standards and certifications (IEC, BIS, etc.).
• Work closely with the Quality team to monitor in-line and final inspection results.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for defects and rejections.

5. Safety & Maintenance Coordination

• Ensure safe working practices and enforce EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) standards.
• Report machine breakdowns and coordinate with the maintenance team for quick resolution.
• Maintain proper documentation of downtime, maintenance schedules, and production logs.

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily production reports, yield reports, and downtime analysis.
• Track and control production costs, scrap, and wastage.
• Present MIS reports to management as required.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of solar PV module manufacturing processes (cell tabbing, stringing, lamination, testing, etc.).

• Hands-on experience in handling automated production lines.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong leadership, communication, and team-handling ability.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5s or TPM will be an added advantage.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Experience in handling large teams and working in a shift-based production setup.
