Overview: As the Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring efficient utilization of space, resources, and personnel to meet organizational objectives. You will play a critical role in managing inventory, optimizing workflows, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Your leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to implement best practices will be essential in driving operational excellence within the warehouse facility. Responsibilities: 1. Inventory Management: Supervise inventory control procedures, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods, to maintain accurate inventory levels and minimize stock discrepancies. 2. Warehouse Organization: Develop and implement efficient layout and storage strategies to maximize space utilization and facilitate easy access to inventory. 3. Workflow Optimization: Streamline warehouse processes and workflows to improve productivity, reduce lead times, and enhance order fulfilment accuracy. 4. Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and providing ongoing coaching and support to promote employee development and performance. 5. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment, conduct regular safety inspections, and implement corrective measures as needed. 6. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory, conduct regular audits, and address any quality issues promptly. 7. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, conveyors, and pallet racks, to ensure optimal performance and safety. 8. Vendor Relations: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to manage inbound and outbound shipments, resolve delivery discrepancies, and optimize transportation logistics. 9. Cost Management: Monitor warehouse expenses, such as manpower, equipment, and supplies and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising operational efficiency. 10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance warehouse operations, increase efficiency, and reduce waste. Requirements: Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably in a fast-paced distribution or logistics environment. Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management principles, and logistics processes. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
