Description
As an independent Lab Chemist at BASF in India, your role will involve executing lab work to identify the benefits of Surfactants for Emulsion Polymerization processes in industries such as Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, and Elastomers. Your responsibilities will include the following: - Independently executing lab work to identify benefits of Surfactants for Emulsion Polymerization processes in industries like Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, and Elastomers. - Having knowledge of the chemical synthesis of Emulsion polymerization technique with hands-on experience in understanding the benefits of monomers used based on end-user applications. - Understanding the role of Surfactants in the emulsion polymerization process to meet targeted properties. - Characterizing the product and application properties of synthesized polymers according to application requirements. - Having an idea about processes used in the paper, construction industry, and Fermentation industry will be considered an added advantage. - Visiting customers in South Asia to provide the technical support required to generate new business of product range for emulsion polymerization techniques used in industry CASE-Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, and Elastomers. You will also be responsible for: - Coordinating with reporting manager, Industry marketing manager, and respective sales to plan, execute lab work, analyze results, and propose next working steps. - Generating and executing lab projects to develop the benefits of products in customers' sales products. - Visiting customers in South Asia to provide technical support, including translating customer requests into lab work and communicating results to customers. - Carrying out literature search on projects undertaken, new trends or concepts, and having proactive discussions with the reporting manager. - Maintaining the tidiness and functionalities of the laboratory, as well as handling complaint handling/quality assurance. - Analyzing product-related complaints to expedite feedback to customers and achieve high customer satisfaction. - Contributing to the Monthly Lab Report by providing required data of various projects in a presentable form. - Acting as the Lab EHS responsible person, ensuring safety regulations are followed and performing documentation for RC & EHS. - Understanding the chemistry of products and coordinating/following up with Sales, Product Management, and Industry Marketing to track projects and find new applications in surfactants/polymer range in paper and construction industries. Job Requirements: - Education: Masters in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Technology, or Chemical Technology. - Minimum Required Experience: 5 years. - Technical & Professional Knowledge: Hands-on experience in conducting Emulsion Polymerization reactions in targeted industries and application tests, along with knowledge of surfactants used in polymerization.
