Job Description

Job Title: Manager – Sales Finance (Claims & Distributor Management) Reporting To: Head – Sales Finance / Commercial Head Function: Finance Industry: FMCG / Consumer Goods Role Purpose: This role is responsible for managing financial reporting, distributor claims, trade promotions, and credit processes to support business growth while ensuring compliance, system efficiency, and commercial hygiene across all business states in India. Key Responsibilities: Financial Outcomes – Reporting & Partnering: Manage and validate Distributor & Super Stockist claims (D&A) for all brands across India. Oversee Trade Scheme and Promotion Management, Claims Processing, Spends Effectiveness, and ensure damage & expiry returns governance. Build, publish, and analyze Claim MIS reports with detailed state-wise Net Revenue (NR) and D&A % insights to identify dilution areas and recommend improvements. Prepare key reports: sales analysis, secondary sales, core market performance, claim evaluations, and D&A monthly provision finalization. Partner with IT and Sales teams to automate and streamline the Distributor Claim Management process. Conduct credit evaluation, manage overdue exposure, and provide actionable insights on credit analytics. Customer Service & Stakeholder Management: Act as a business partner to the Sales team, offering financial insights and support to drive growth. Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting that enables informed decision-making and supports commercial recommendations. Internal Processes: Oversee Distributor Life Cycle Management including onboarding, compliance checks, and full & final settlements for exiting partners. Lead the implementation of DMS (Distributor Management System) and support continuous system improvement. Innovation & Learning: Ensure strong governance around commercial hygiene, support internal audits, and maintain a deep understanding of tools such as SAP, DMS, and Business Intelligence platforms. Drive continuous improvement and standardization of financial processes in line with industry best practices. Critical Success Factors: MBA in Finance with 4–6 years of relevant experience. Proven background in sales finance within an FMCG environment. Proficiency in SAP and understanding of distributor management and financial processes. Strong commercial acumen and ability to interpret business data into actionable insights. Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Desirable Success Factors: Experience in FMCG or related industry with a deep understanding of trade and distributor dynamics. Ability to manage ambiguity, take initiative, and drive cross-functional collaboration. Strong project management, data analysis, and financial modeling skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
