Assistant Manager US Mortgage Underwriting

Location:

Assistant Manager US Mortgage Underwriting

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of mortgage underwriters, ensuring productivity, quality, and SLA adherence.
Review and underwrite complex loan files while providing guidance on escalated cases.
Handle client escalations professionally, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining strong client relationships.
Monitor team performance, conduct quality checks, and provide coaching and feedback.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, investor, and company underwriting guidelines.
Collaborate with processors, loan officers, and client teams to ensure smooth workflow and issue resolution.
Prepare performance reports and contribute to process improvements and training initiatives.

Qualifications

6+ years of US mortgage underwriting experience with strong knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans.
Proven experience in
team management, team handling, and client escalation management
.
Strong analytical skills, decision-making ability, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in underwriting systems and MS Office.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
