Job Description

Location: Veetee India Corporate Office, Gurgaon

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 7.30pm (Office Based)


Job Summary:

To ensure the efficient and timely planning/scheduling of imported raw material (rice) arrivals. Complete origin documentation/contract compliance, enabling smooth flow of product into the UK as required. The effective management of Sea Freight contracts, ensuring service/contracts in place to deliver market rates or better


Responsibilities:

Planning/Scheduling of imports

  • Managing inbound rice supply flow, ensuring optimum supply to UK.
  • Liaising with Import colleagues ensuring optimum flow of imports, ensuring minimal cost/disruption to UK operation
  • Liaising and following up with suppliers and shipping lines/agents to ensure timely shipments
  • Eco Chamber Scheduling


Origin Document/Contracts

  • Ensuring legal contracts are appropriate and assess risks arising from such third-party contracts, have mitigation plans in place to overcome risks.
  • Ensuring sampling / other conformance processes/documents are actioned in timely fashion
  • New vendor development and maintenance of existing partnerships.


Deep Sea Freight Management

  • Lead and support negotiations with shipping lines and freight forwarders for ocean freight agreements. Ensure favourable terms aligned with company logistics strategies and cost objectives.


Any other reasonable duties, responsibility or requests that may be issued by management from time to time


Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Recent experience working within a purchasing or supply chain role.
  • Degree (or equivalent), within a business or appropriate related subject.
  • The role demands accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a good level of written, verbal and spoken English is essential.
  • Good IT skills, proficient in MS Office suite – mainly Excel and Outlook but including Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiating skills are essential for the candidate to be successful in this role.
  • Organisational skills and able to prioritise own workload.
  • Previous experience with ERP Systems would be beneficial, especially MS Dynamics 365.
  • Hours to do the role, which may vary accordingly to business demand.
  • Positive attitude and adaptable to any environment.
  • Comfortable working under pressure.
  • The ideal candidate will be innovative and a solution finder.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work on own initiative and a good team player.
  • Have a genuine passion for purchasing and supply chain with the drive to learn and progress within the role.
