Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Production Assistant Manager with expertise in the design, manufacturing, validation, and quality control of hydraulic dampers. The candidate must have a strong engineering background, process optimization skills, and leadership abilities to drive efficiency and quality in production while meeting railway and metro standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Production & Target Management – Ensure daily and monthly production targets are met, coordinating with PPC and purchase teams for on-time delivery.
• Prototype Development & Validation – Oversee product trials, customer inspections, approvals, and validation processes for new railway dampers.
• Technical & Design Coordination – Work closely with design and engineering teams to translate customer specifications into working supply base specifications, ensuring proper execution through the sample stage.
• Quality Assurance & Testing – Manage and conduct various damper tests as per customer requirements, ensuring fatigue testing, compliance with RDSO, UIC, and other railway certifications.
• Shop Floor & Manpower Management – Lead skilled manpower, manage shop floor administration, and implement action plans to improve equipment efficiency.
• Manufacturing Process Optimization – Implement lean manufacturing technique, painting, welding, and surface treatments. Knowledge in CNC machining and forging is beneficial to enhance efficiency.
• Supply Chain & Vendor Management – Coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams for high-quality materials and components.
• Problem Solving & Quality Concerns – Analyze and resolve manufacturing issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and troubleshoot line problems during production.
• Safety & Compliance – Ensure adherence to industrial safety norms, environmental regulations, and railway component manufacturing standards.

Key Requirements

• B. Tech/M. Tech/Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• 10+ years’ experience in hydraulic damper production or related railway components.
• In-depth knowledge of hydraulic damping systems, CNC machining, forging, welding, and painting processes.
• Hands-on experience with shock absorber testing machines and TPI inspections.
• Strong leadership in team management, process improvement, and problem-solving.
• Familiarity with railway industry standards, certifications, and approval processes.
