Assistant General Manager - Airside Operations

AGM- Airside Operations will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of all airside activities ensuring adherence to regulations, standards, and SOPs. In co-ordination with AAI, accountable for Aerodrome Safeguarding as per regulations and ensuring verification, monitoring, and controlling of obstructions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and control day-to-day activities of airside operations. Ensure safety, efficiency, and capacity optimization. Monitor performance through KPIs and implement corrective measures for capacity building supporting future growth.
• Implement and enforce aerodrome safeguarding regulations as per GSR 751(E), other regulations and policies. Liaise with AAI, local government agencies to regulate and approve developments in the vicinity of the aerodrome. Ensure compliances, surveys, records, charts, audits, and approvals to safeguard the aerodrome. Co-ordinate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain NOCs for new airport infrastructure and maintenance projects at the earliest.
• Coordinate with AAI, IMD, regulatory bodies, Airlines, GHAs, and internal stakeholders for smooth airside operations and collaborate for improvements in operational efficiencies. Host Airspace and Airside Capacity Enhancement Meetings and action the agreed improvements.
• Review and update Aerodrome manual, departmental SOPs, Operational circulars and ensure implementation thereof.
• Support in budget planning (CAPEX and OPEX) for the department, monitoring, and judicious expenditures.
• Support and guide airside operations team during contingencies, disruptions and restore normalcy at the earliest, minimising operational impacts.
• Co-ordinate with HR for recruitment, induction, training, goal settings, performance management, team building, motivation, periodical appraisals, counselling, and support.

Competencies Required:

• Proficiency and experience in Airside Operations, Air Traffic Management, Airport Operations, Safety Management, Disaster Management, General Administration and Human Resource Management in leadership roles.
• Proficiency and experience in Aerodrome safeguarding and compliances to GSR 751, GSR 770, ADSAC 02/2024, NOCAS, relevant regulations and AAI policies on the subject.
• Expertise and experience of planning, execution and operationalization of Airside infrastructure and maintenance projects with least impact on airside operations.
• Administration & coordination with external stakeholders and internal cross-functional teams for enhancing the efficiencies of operations.
• Proficient in analyzing the data, management reports and using the information towards process refinement and capacity building and problem solving.
• Proficient in Budget planning and funds utilization.
• Sound communication skills in English (written and verbal)

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate/Postgraduate having expertise in DGCA CAR Section 4 Series B Part 1, ICAO Annex 14. Good knowledge of ICAO Annex 11, Annex 19, Doc 9157, Doc 9137, relevant DGCA regulations and circulars. Candidate having certifications on these subjects from recognised institutes will be preferred.
• Expertise and experiences on GSR 751 (E), GSR 770, ADSAC 02/2024, NOCAS.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in leadership role in ATC (as Air traffic Controller), airside operations, airport operations with experience of leading team of minimum twenty-five members. Defence ATC officers with Cat ‘A’ qualification will be get due weightage.
• Experience of coordinating with AAI, DGCA and other relevant regulatory authorities on the abovementioned subjects and experience of handling of audits and closure of observations
