Assistant Accountant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This role supports the accounting function through the accurate processing of financial transactions, assistance in reporting, and maintenance of financial records. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Process day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries. Perform bank reconciliations and assist in the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes. Maintain and organize financial records in accordance with internal policies and regulatory standards. Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis. Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve finance-related queries. Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls. Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or working towards a recognized accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA). A minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance support role preferred. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage). Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications. Key Competencies: Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
