Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic IT Asset Controller to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets across the organization. The role focuses on asset tracking, license compliance, cost optimization, vendor coordination, and supporting ITAM/CMDB practices. The ideal candidate ensures that hardware and software assets are accurately recorded, effectively utilized, and aligned with business and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets (procurement, deployment, utilization, maintenance, and retirement).
Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software, and peripheral assets using an ITAM tool (e.g., ServiceNow, ManageEngine, Lansweeper).
Ensure license compliance and manage software entitlements and renewals.
Track asset movement across locations, users, and departments with proper documentation and approvals.
Coordinate with procurement and vendors for hardware/software sourcing, delivery, and warranty support.
Support internal and external audits by providing asset data, reports, and compliance evidence.
Integrate asset management practices with ITSM/CMDB and change management processes.
Analyze asset utilization and recommend cost-saving measures or lifecycle upgrades.
Implement asset tagging, labeling, and disposal policies in line with security and environmental standards.

Required Skills And Experience

3-5 years of experience in IT asset management or related IT operations roles.
Strong knowledge of hardware and software asset lifecycle, inventory control, and licensing.
Hands-on experience with ITAM tools and integrations with ITSM platforms.
Familiarity with ITIL framework, especially SACM (Service Asset and Configuration Management).
Understanding of procurement processes, vendor contracts, and license models (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, VMware).
