Job Title: Area Sales Manager

Location: [Delhi]

Department: Sales & Business Development

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager / Zonal Sales Manager

Job Summary

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing a team of sales representatives/distributors, and ensuring achievement of sales targets within the assigned territory. The role involves market development, customer relationship management, and execution of sales strategies to maximize business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned area.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Sales Executives/Representatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key customers.
  • Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and share timely insights with management.
  • Implement trade marketing initiatives and promotional activities in the territory.
  • Ensure proper product placement, availability, and visibility across retail channels.
  • Drive new customer acquisition and territory expansion.
  • Review and analyze sales reports, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular field visits, coaching, and performance reviews of the sales team.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, credit control, and collection of outstanding dues.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 3–8 years of proven sales experience, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and take data-driven decisions.
  • Familiarity with the local market dynamics and distribution network.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); knowledge of CRM tools is a plus.
