Job Description: Area Sales Manager – Auto Parts

Role Overview

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) for Auto Parts will be responsible for driving sales growth in a designated geographic territory by managing and expanding the distributor/dealer network, developing new business, and ensuring strong customer relationships. The ASM will work closely with internal teams (sales, supply chain, marketing) to meet revenue and profitability targets, optimize inventory, and deliver excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Sales Strategy & Execution
• Develop and implement regional sales plans aligned with business objectives.
• Identify new business opportunities (new accounts, distributors, retailers).
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for auto parts.
• Channel / Distributor Management
• Manage existing distributors/dealers in the assigned area; monitor their performance.
• Onboard new distributors or dealers based on territory potential.
• Provide training and support to channel partners on product knowledge, sales processes, and target achievement.
• Customer Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers (fleet owners, service centers, garages, etc.).
• Act as a trusted advisor on parts-related technical queries. Address customer issues, complaints, and escalate as needed to ensure satisfaction.
• Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis
• Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and pricing to adapt sales strategies.
• Provide regular feedback to senior management on market developments.

• Team Leadership
• Lead and motivate a small local sales team (if applicable) or work with field sales reps.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring.
• Aftermarket / Service Collaboration
• Coordinate with after-sales or service teams to drive parts uptake in repair / service workflows.
• Develop parts-based propositions to increase customer loyalty and recurring business.
• Compliance & Process Management
• Maintain high standards in sales process, contract management, and customer follow-ups.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of the automotive parts / components industry (OEM or aftermarket). Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Sales planning and forecasting abilities.
• Analytical thinking and ability to interpret sales data / market trends.
• Relationship-building skills with B2B customers (distributors, fleet, garages).
• Team leadership and mentoring capability.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Preferably an MBA (Marketing / Sales) or relevant advanced degree.
• Experience: Typically 5–10 years in sales in automotive / auto components / aftermarket, with experience in channel management / distributor sales.
• Proven track record of meeting / exceeding sales targets.
• Experience in working with inventory management, demand forecasting, and supply chain coordination.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month
