Job Title: Area Sales Manager
Department: Sales
Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
Reports To: CBDO
Job Type: Full-time, day shift

Benefits:

  • Salary (CTC): 6.0-9.0 LPA

Objective:
To lead pharmaceutical sales operations in Coimbatore by developing strategic plans, managing a team of Medical Representatives, and driving market penetration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Strategy and Target Achievement

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed regional targets.
  • Set sales targets for the team and monitor their progress.
  • Identify and prioritize high-potential markets to drive business growth.

2. Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Medical Representatives.
  • Provide regular training and development to ensure product knowledge and sales skills are up-to-date.
  • Monitor the performance of the sales team and provide constructive feedback for improvement.

3. Market Expansion and Territory Management

  • Identify new business opportunities and expand into untapped markets.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, including doctors and pharmacists.
  • Ensure timely coverage of all key customers and accounts across the territory.

4. Business Development

  • Manage relationships with distributors and stockists, ensuring product availability in the market.
  • Negotiate terms and ensure proper placement of products in the territory.
  • Track competitor activities and provide timely market feedback.

5. Reporting and Analysis

  • Regularly report sales data and market insights to the reporting manager.
  • Analyze sales trends and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, expenses, and team performance.

6. Compliance and Regulatory

  • Ensure that all activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Keep updated with industry standards and product certifications.

Job Specification:

1. Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (required).
  • Science/biology background (preferred).

2. Experience

  • Pharmaceutical sales experience: Minimum 5 years (required).
  • Experience in a Managerial Role (preferred).

3. Skills

  • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical market in Tamil Nadu, especially Coimbatore and surrounding regions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions based on market conditions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience in using CRM software to track sales metrics and customer interactions.
