Business Development & Sales Executive chennai 2 - 5 years INR 6.0 - 8.0 Lacs P.A. Work from Office Full Time

Role & responsibilities Core Sales & Customer Management Manage and grow key client relationships through regular engagement, product demonstrations, and value-based negotiations. Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities across contractors, dealers, builders and project developers in the assigned territory. Execute end-to-end sales cycle from initial outreach and proposal to contract closure and handover — ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Negotiate commercial terms (pricing, credit, delivery) and ensure profitable deals while protecting company margins. Territory & Channel Management Plan, prioritize and manage territory coverage to maximize reach and revenue; maintain regular field visits and route plans. Develop and manage channel partners and dealer networks — on boarding, training, incentive schemes and performance reviews. Monitor distributor/dealer inventory levels and collaborate with logistics to avoid stock-outs or excesses. Strategic & Market Responsibilities Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer needs; translate insights into actionable sales strategies and product positioning. Contribute to pricing strategy, promotion planning and launch plans for new products or categories. Support demand generation initiatives — coordinate local marketing, product demos, technical workshops and trade events to drive pipeline. Sales Planning, Reporting & Forecasting Prepare accurate weekly/monthly pipeline reports, sales forecasts and territory plans using CRM and MS Office tools; present performance vs targets to management. Create persuasive presentations and proposals for new targets, quarterly KPIs and revenue projections; present to internal stakeholders and clients. Track and report key metrics (sales, leads, conversion, collections, returns) and recommend corrective actions when targets slip. Customer Service & After-Sales Coordinate with service, technical and logistics teams to ensure timely installation, complaint resolution and post-sale support. Capture and feed customer feedback and product improvement ideas to product/engineering teams. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with marketing on localized campaigns, digital lead follow-ups and point-of-sale materials. Coordinate with finance for credit approvals, invoicing and collections; follow-up to ensure timely payments. Liaise with operations and supply chain to align production/stock with demand forecasts. Leadership, Coaching & Process Improvement Mentor and coach junior sales staff or territory executives; lead by example in field best practices. Standardize sales processes, improve CRM hygiene and drive adoption of reporting tools to increase efficiency. Compliance & Personal Development Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing approvals and ethical sales practices. Maintain product knowledge and attend regular training to remain current on technical specifications and industry developments. Preferred candidate profile Candidates with minimum 2 years of On-field sales experience for selling building materials or construction materials is a must. Tamil & English language proficiency will be preferred. Having masters degree in sales & marketing, civil, construction, customer engagement & operations will add a benefit while selection process. The candidates must have a vehicle along with valid & legal driving license. The compensation for fuel expenses will be paid over the CTC.
