Job Summary

Successful candidate will mandatorily possess good communication skills/soft interpersonal skills, understanding of real estate domain along with the Analytical and Presentation skills. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for real estate and construction projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with the organizations commercial objectives. The role involves reviewing design drawings, coordinating with procurement and engineering teams, analyzing project risks, and developing cost-saving strategies. The incumbent will play a critical role in tendering, budgeting, and value engineering exercises across the pre- and post-contract stages.

Role & responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed project cost estimates (preliminary and final) based on drawings.
  • Analyse project requirements, BOQs, drawings, and specifications to assess and verify scope of work.
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and project management teams to gather inputs and validate assumptions for estimation.
  • Rate Analysis and preparation of BBS.
  • Benchmark project costs against market trends and previous projects to ensure competitiveness.
  • Assist in tendering and bid evaluation by analysing contractor quotes and providing cost comparison reports.
  • Support value engineering initiatives by identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or functionality.
  • Monitor project budgets and provide cost-to-complete forecasts during the execution stage.
  • Maintain a database of unit rates, vendor quotes, and cost histories to improve estimate accuracy over time.
  • Conduct risk assessments and include contingency provisions in cost estimates.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost estimation reports and dashboards for management review.
  • Support financial feasibility and investment analysis during project planning phases.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in cost estimation, quantity surveying, and budgeting, preferably in real estate or infrastructure sector.
