Job Description

Primary Title:

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Backend DeveloperIndustry: Digital Experience & Enterprise Content Management. Sector: Martech / Web & Mobile Customer-Facing Platforms delivering scalable CMS-driven digital properties for enterprise clients across finance, retail, healthcare and services. This on-site role (India) focuses on backend AEM engineering to build performant, secure and maintainable authoring and publishing solutions.Role & Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain AEM backend components, templates and services (AEM 6.x / AEMaaCS) following best-practices for Sling, JCR and OSGi.
  • Implement server-side logic, RESTful integrations and custom OSGi services to connect AEM with external systems (APIs, DAM, search, authentication).
  • Author and enforce content models, repository structures, workflows and ACL strategies to support editorial workflows and multi-site setups.
  • Optimize AEM publisher/author performance and caching—configure Dispatcher, tune JVM/OSGi, and debug memory/GC issues to ensure high availability.
  • Drive CI/CD pipelines (Maven, Jenkins/GitHub Actions), create reproducible builds and automate deployments across author/publish environments.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional teams onsite with architects, front-end developers, QA and product owners to deliver production-ready releases.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must-Have:
    • 3+ years hands-on AEM development (AEM 6.x) with strong Java backend experience.
    • Deep knowledge of Apache Sling, JCR/CRX repository, OSGi/Felix and HTL (Sightly).
    • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Dispatcher, caching and CDN-related issues.
    • Proficient with Maven-based AEM projects, Git workflows and CI/CD automation.
    • Strong debugging, performance-tuning and production-support experience for AEM environments.
  • Preferred:
    • Exposure to AEM as a Cloud Service, Adobe Cloud Manager, SPA Editor and modern frontend frameworks (React/Angular).
    • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (ELK, New Relic), security hardening and accessibility best-practices.
