YouTube Strategist


Key Responsibilities:


1. Channel Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and implement a data-driven YouTube growth strategy aligned with brand and business goals.
  • Conduct audience analysis and competitor benchmarking to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Plan and manage channel calendars, upload schedules, and content rollouts.
  • Collaborate with the creative and production teams to shape video concepts that perform well on YouTube.


2. Content Optimization

  • Optimize video titles, thumbnails, tags, descriptions, and playlists for SEO and engagement.
  • Implement best practices for metadata, captions, and end screens to drive retention and conversions.
  • Work with editors to ensure pacing, structure, and visuals fit YouTube audience behavior.
  • Maintain consistency in tone, branding, and visual storytelling across all uploads.


3. Analytics & Performance Tracking

  • Track and analyze performance metrics (views, watch time, CTR, retention, engagement, etc.).
  • Generate actionable insights to improve future content strategies.
  • Provide monthly performance reports to production and marketing leadership.


4. Collaboration & Production Support

  • Partner with producers, videographers, and editors to ensure content aligns with YouTube algorithm best practices.
  • Provide creative input during pre-production (concepts, hooks, structure).
  • Manage and coordinate video publishing, thumbnails, and community posts.
  • Liaise with the social media and marketing teams to support cross-platform promotions.


5. Audience Engagement & Community Management

  • Oversee comments, community posts, and fan interactions to build a strong audience relationship.
  • Monitor feedback and adjust content or messaging accordingly.
  • Develop engagement strategies such as polls, Q&As, and live sessions.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Film/Media Production, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience managing or strategizing for a YouTube channel (brand or creator).
  • Strong understanding of YouTube analytics, SEO, and algorithmic trends.
  • Proficient in YouTube Studio, Google Analytics, and social media analytics tools.


Performance Indicators

  • Channel growth (subscribers, watch time, engagement rate).
  • Content performance (CTR, audience retention).
  • Optimization success (SEO ranking, discoverability).
  • Contribution to revenue or monetization goals.
