Job Title: WordPress Developer

Experience Level: Mid-Level (2.5 to 4 Years of Professional Experience)

Location: New Town, Kolkata

Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level WordPress Developer with minimum 2.5 years of professional experience to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both front-end and back-end development, including theme and plugin customization, ensuring high performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the WordPress CMS. A strong understanding of the latest industry trends and content management systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development & Customization: Develop, customize, and manage high-quality WordPress themes and plugins from scratch or by extending existing solutions.
• Maintenance & Optimization: Maintain and update existing WordPress sites to ensure optimal performance, security, and responsiveness. Optimize website speed and scalability.
• Front-End Implementation: Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into clean, well-structured, and fully functional websites using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Back-End Functionality: Implement custom post types, taxonomies, and custom fields (using tools like Advanced Custom Fields/ACF). Work with MySQL databases.
• API Integration: Integrate third-party APIs and web services (e.g., payment gateways, marketing tools, CRMs).
• Security & Compliance: Implement robust security measures and ensure all development adheres to industry best practices and WCAG accessibility standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Troubleshooting: Debug and resolve complex technical issues and cross-browser compatibility concerns.
• Version Control: Utilize Git for version control and collaborative development workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: 2.5 to 4 years of proven professional experience as a WordPress Developer.
• Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery.
• WordPress Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the WordPress core, theming hierarchy, hooks, filters, and API structure.
• Framework/Libraries: Experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap) or CSS pre-processors (e.g., Sass/LESS) is a plus.
• E-commerce: Experience with WooCommerce and related payment/shipping integrations is highly desirable.
• Performance: Understanding of web performance optimization techniques and tools.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications:

• Experience with a modern PHP framework e.g., Laravel.
• Familiarity with server management and deployment processes e.g., cPanel, SSH.
• Experience with Gutenberg block development.
• A portfolio demonstrating successful, complex WordPress projects.

Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
