Description
Position: Full‑Stack WordPress Developer
Overview:
We’re seeking a versatile WordPress Developer who thrives on end‑to‑end ownership—crafting pixel‑perfect, conversion‑focused experiences in the browser while architecting rock‑solid PHP/MySQL back ends. You’ll partner closely with our design and marketing teams to build, customize, and optimize themes, plugins and landing pages that drive traffic, engagement and measurable ROI.
Key Responsibilities:
Front‑End Development & Design
Translate wireframes and mockups into responsive, accessible HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript.
Mastery of Elementor (and Pro) to build, extend and customize templates—injecting custom CSS where needed for pixel‑perfect fidelity.
Implement mobile‑first breakpoints, performance optimizations (lazy‑loading, critical CSS), and cross‑browser QA.
Back‑End Architecture & Coding
Build and maintain custom themes and plugins using modern PHP (7.x/8.x), MySQL and the WordPress API.
Develop custom post types, taxonomies and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) integrations.
Troubleshoot conflicts, manage hooks/filters and ensure secure, maintainable code (WP Coding Standards).
Landing Page & Conversion Optimization
Partner with marketing to design high‑impact landing pages: wireframe review, copy placement, form integration.
Implement basic A/B tests, track heatmaps/scroll maps, and leverage data to refine layouts for maximum conversions.
Apply on‑page SEO best practices: semantic markup, meta‑tag management, schema & site speed tuning.
Plugin & Template Management
Evaluate, configure and extend third‑party plugins (WooCommerce, Yoast, WP‑Rocket, Gravity Forms).
Keep templates and plugins updated; proactively monitor for security vulnerabilities and compatibility issues.
Write clear documentation and train non‑technical staff on template editing and plugin usage.
Collaboration & Workflow
Use Git (or equivalent) for version control, maintain staging/production workflows and perform reliable deployments.
Communicate clearly in stand‑ups and sprint planning; estimate tasks accurately and drive features to completion.
Provide occasional 1:1 support for content editors—troubleshooting page build issues and advising on best practices.
Must‑Have Skills & Experience:
3+ years WordPress development with demonstrable front‑end and back‑end projects
Expert-level Elementor proficiency and custom CSS/SCSS chops
Solid PHP (7.x/8.x), MySQL, HTML5, CSS3 and vanilla JavaScript
Experience designing and optimizing landing pages for lead gen & e‑commerce
Familiarity with basic SEO, Google Analytics setup, and simple A/B testing tools
Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail, and a passion for clean, maintainable code
Nice‑to‑Have:
WooCommerce store configuration and hook development
Experience with headless or decoupled WordPress, REST API, GraphQL
Exposure to performance tools (Lighthouse, GTmetrix) and CI/CD pipelines
Basic understanding of marketing automation platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot)
If you love shaping every layer of a site—from the database schema to the final pixel—and you’re driven by both elegant code and measurable marketing outcomes, we’d love to hear from you. Apply with your portfolio, GitHub link (if available), and a quick note on your favorite Elementor trick.
