Job Description

Server Management Proactive Monitoring of all the Servers, some of the key parameters would be: Availability of the Server Hardware pre-failure and post-failures Disk space Utilization Memory Utilization Processor Utilization Network Utilization related to the server Monitoring log files To update antivirus patches on servers on an ongoing basis To add, delete or reconfiguration of additional users and other services To check and update service packs and hot fixes and OS patches as per policy. To maintain existing server documentation for processes Reinstallation of OS, arising due to incidents of OS crashes or problems where a reinstallation is required Recommend on the possible solution / workaround to address the probable causes of failure. Windows/VMWare Management Installation and Troubleshooting for all variant servers Patch Management for OS Management of VMWare 6.5 VMWare Management (Snapshot, Cloning, Template, HA, Clustering, DRS, Upgradation etc..) VMWare SRM (Site Replication Manager) Server Performance monitoring Disk management - creating partitions for the different types of servers Disk space management for OS partition(s) System Log file management User account management Incident and Request Services monitoring Request Fulfillment Management Review of daily/weekly/monthly checklist Event log analysis at regular intervals for maintaining the integrity of servers Repeat Incident / Alert Analysis Managing / reconfiguring of DHCP scopes and reservations Managing / reconfiguring of DNS System State backup Managing / reconfiguring terminal services, cluster services, file servers Necessary support for restoration or drill Preparation of MIR for Major Incidents Reinstallations rise due to incidents Vendor coordination Incident / Request Fulfillment / Change management Preparation of RCA for Major Incidents Repeat Incident / Alert Analysis Performance tuning suggested by OEM updating and maintenance of Availability, Capacity management Risk Analysis and providing the mitigation plan Continual Service Improvement Planning and executions Planning and execution of DR Drills based on availability of DR setup and recovery procedures Preparing, maintaining and updating of SOP and KBase Incident / Problem / Change management Virtualization Support (VMware SRM) Monitor Remote site down events Monitor Local vSphere Replication Server status Monitor Low disk space events Monitor Low memory events Monitor Storage SRA failure events Monitor License expiring event Monitor SRM SNMP Traps Check logfiles on critical events Fix critical events Collect SRM Log Files Assign roles to users to perform tasks in SRM Disable the Recovery of a Virtual Machine Disable the Recovery of a Consistency Group Export Recovery Plan Steps SOP Based Support and Manage re-installation and re-configuration of Virtualization Server Infra w.r.t an incident in CUSTOMER’s environment during service period. Support Site Replication Service for VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) in case of disaster recovery and business continuity Must L3 skill set Minimum 8 years’ IT experience and 5 years relevant experience. Troubleshooting of Windows server/ VMware/O365 Good understanding of AD/DNS Good knowledge of DHCP Good knowledge of VMware 6.5 infra management Communication should be good (Need to coordinate with OEMS & Overseas Team/Stakeholders) Show more Show less
