About the Role

Hapz Software Solutions builds immersive training, simulation, and game experiences across construction, healthcare, defence, and more. We’re looking for a VR Software Engineer who loves shipping high-quality experiences and pushing the limits of real-time 3D. 

 


What you’ll do

  • Build and optimize VR applications for standalone headsets (Meta Quest 2/3, Pico) and PC-VR (SteamVR/HTC Vive) using Unity (C#) or Unreal Engine (C++/Blueprints). 
  • Implement interactions using OpenXR (e.g., XR Interaction Toolkit, Oculus/SteamVR integrations), including hand/eye tracking and basic MR/passthrough when needed. 
  • Integrate 3D assets, animations, VFX, and UI (uGUI/TMP or UMG) into polished scenes. 
  • Profile and optimize for stable 72/90 Hz: batching, culling, light baking, shader/texture budgets, GPU/CPU profiling. 
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and PMs; participate in Agile ceremonies; write clean, maintainable code with reviews and documentation. 
  • Troubleshoot device-specific issues and ship builds/APKs; maintain best practices and technical docs. 


Must-have qualifications

  • 2–5 years hands-on in VR/AR/XR with at least one shipped prototype or product (share links/APKs). 
  • Strong in Unity + C# or Unreal + C++/Blueprints (Unity preferred but not mandatory). 
  • Experience targeting Meta Quest and/or SteamVR with OpenXR. 
  • Solid grasp of 3D math, rendering, physics, and debugging/profiling (Unity/Unreal profilers). 
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows. 


Nice to have

  • Networking / Multiplayer (Photon Fusion/Netcode/Mirror), state sync, lag compensation. 
  • Shaders (Shader Graph/HLSL), lighting, and performance tooling (RenderDoc, Frame Debugger). 
  • Unity: Addressables, ScriptableObjects, Animation Rigging, DOTS (optional). 
  • Unreal: Gameplay Ability System, Niagara, optimization for mobile VR. 
  • CI/CD, crash analytics, store submission. 
  • Exposure to AI integrations or WebXR.
