Virtual Desktop Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage and support Azure Virtual Desktop environments and related virtual desktop infrastructure
• Perform daily system engineering operations and provide escalation support
• Develop and test software packages using InstallShield or equivalent tools
• Administer Microsoft Configuration Manager for software deployment and patch management
• Create and maintain workstation images using SCCM
• Implement and manage patch updates including BIOS, firmware, and application updates
• Automate tasks and scripting for system management using PowerShell and other scripting languages
• Apply group policies and manage Active Directory services
• Collaborate with teams to ensure system compliance with ITIL framework guidelines
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to virtual desktop and system environments
• Maintain documentation of system configurations and procedures
• Coordinate software development lifecycle activities related to system engineering tasks
• Support global software deployment and imaging strategies
• Assist in the design and implementation of system improvements and upgrades
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with Azure Virtual Desktops
• 5+ years of experience as a System Engineer
• Working knowledge on Microsoft Azure, FsLogix, GPO, Active Directory and PowerShell
• Experience with Day-to-day System Engineer Operations and escalations support
• Experience in developing and testing software packages using Install shield or equivalent
• Understanding of virtual desktop infrastructure management (Azure Virtual Desktop preferred)
• Experience in software development life cycle methods and current technologies
• Expert with SCCM administration, patch management, Imaging, Scripting, MSI, Packaging & Automation
• Expert with administering and deploying software using SCCM in a global environment, developing and maintaining workstation images using SCCM
• Expert in patch management including bios and firmware updates, service pack upgrades, and application-based updates
• Scripting experience is considered a plus (batch, SQL, PowerShell, vbscript)
• Working knowledge of the ITIL framework
