We are seeking a visionary and experienced Vice President Retail Operations to lead and elevate the retail business of our esteemed client. This role is critical in ensuring customer-facing retail operations are efficient, profitable, and aligned with brand standards while being strongly backed by deep involvement and understanding of backend food production and supply chain processes.
A legacy brand in the Indian sweets, snacks, and vegetarian cuisine space, known for premium quality, rich heritage, and customer trust.
Lead and manage day-to-day operations of all the retail outlets.
Ensure consistent customer service excellence, visual merchandising, hygiene, and ambiance across all stores.
Drive outlet-level sales performance, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Implement SOPs, audits, and operational checklists to ensure process standardization.
Integration with Backend Food Production:
Collaborate with central kitchen and production teams to ensure real-time product availability and freshness.
Plan demand forecasts and daily replenishment schedules aligned with outlet footfall and seasonality.
Maintain quality and consistency by understanding production capabilities and constraints.
Ensure feedback loops from retail to production (customer taste preferences, complaints, etc.).
Inventory, Logistics & SCM Coordination:
Monitor stock levels, shelf life, and wastage at outlet and central level.
Liaise with supply chain teams for timely raw material and finished goods delivery.
Optimize logistics routes for freshness, efficiency, and cost control.
Achieve outlet-level and regional sales targets, drive upselling, combo strategies, and festive promotions.
Analyze daily sales reports, cost margins, and operational KPIs to ensure profitability.
Control manpower and operating costs without compromising customer experience.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor regional managers, store managers, and front-end teams.
Build a performance-driven retail culture with ongoing training and development programs.
Implement incentive structures and recognition programs to boost morale and accountability.
Experience: 15+ years in retail operations within food service/QSR/hospitality/FMCG, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Business, Hotel Management, or Food Technology.
Strong exposure to both customer-centric retail management and backend food production workflows.
Demonstrated ability to scale operations, improve service levels, and manage large, multi-location teams.
Knowledge of FSSAI regulations, food safety, and cold chain logistics is preferred.
