Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Vendor Development & Job Work / Production Engineer to manage component sourcing, vendor development, job work coordination, and production activities for food, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing & packaging machines, including special purpose machines (SPM) with automation.

The candidate must have strong knowledge of machined, fabricated, bought-out, and automation-related components used in these machines.

Key Responsibilities:Vendor Development & Management

• Identify, develop, evaluate, and onboard vendors for machining, fabrication, sheet metal, laser cutting, bending, surface finishing, and bought-out components
• Develop vendors for SS304/SS316 components suitable for food & pharma applications
• Ensure vendors comply with quality, delivery, cost, and hygiene standards
• Conduct vendor audits, capability assessments, and performance evaluations
• Maintain and update approved vendor lists (AVL)

Job Work & Production Coordination

• Plan and coordinate job work activities such as machining, fabrication, polishing, coating, and assembly support
• Issue job work drawings, BOMs, and process instructions to vendors
• Monitor production schedules, lead times, and delivery commitments
• Follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of components
• Coordinate rework, rejection handling, and corrective actions

Component & Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of components used in processing, packaging, and SPM machines, including:
• Machined parts, shafts, housings, brackets
• Fabricated structures and frames
• Conveyors, guide rails, belts
• Pneumatic components, cylinders, valves, FRLs
• Motors, gearboxes, servo motors, drives
• Sensors, encoders, and automation accessories
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and surface finish requirements

Quality, Cost & Process Control

• Ensure components meet drawing specifications, GMP, hygiene, and safety standards
• Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and alternate vendor development
• Coordinate incoming inspection and quality clearance
• Support ISO / GMP documentation and traceability requirements

Internal Coordination

• Work closely with Design, Production, Quality, Purchase, and Automation teams
• Support assembly, machine trials, FAT, and dispatch activities
• Handle production bottlenecks and vendor-related issues

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Minimum 5 years experience in vendor development, job work, or production in:
• Food processing machinery
• Pharma packaging or processing machines
• Chemical processing/packaging equipment
• Special Purpose Machines (SPM) with automation
• Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
• Good understanding of AutoCAD / SolidWorks drawings (reading & coordination level)
• Familiarity with GMP, hygiene design, and food/pharma industry standards
• Knowledge of ERP, BOM control, and production planning is an advantage

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in turnkey machine manufacturing projects
• Exposure to vendor negotiation and cost control

• Good communication and documentation skills
