Qualifications And Skills
- Minimum 7 years of professional nursing experience in infection prevention and control within a hospital setting.
- Comprehensive expertise in Infection Control (Mandatory skill) including development and monitoring of protocols to minimize healthcare-associated infections.
- Proven ability in Hospital Epidemiology, understanding disease transmission patterns and implementing precautionary strategies to control outbreaks.
- Strong command of Surveillance Systems for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting infection trends for timely interventions and continuous improvement.
- Clinical Auditing skills for assessing compliance with infection control policies and presenting actionable recommendations for healthcare teams.
- Rigorous commitment to Patient Safety initiatives, engaging in training, procedure reviews, and continuous education for prevention practices.
- Experience with Outbreak Management including rapid response coordination, containment measures, and interdepartmental communication during incidents.
- Excellent communication skills for education, reporting, and updates tailored to staff, patients, and families regarding infection prevention.
- Keen attention to detail, analytical thinking, and data-driven decision making to support evidence-based infection control standards.

Roles And Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies to ensure compliance with best practice standards and statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular clinical audits to assess adherence to infection prevention protocols and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive surveillance systems for monitoring infection rates, trends, and outcomes across all hospital departments.
- Lead and coordinate investigations and management of hospital-acquired infection outbreaks, ensuring prompt containment and reporting.
- Educate clinical and support staff on infection control measures through training, workshops, and ongoing communication initiatives.
- Collaborate with hospital management, quality, and clinical teams to develop strategies for patient safety improvements.
- Review and analyze surveillance data, generating reports and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders for informed decision making.
- Participate in accreditation activities and contribute to compliance with local, national, and international infection control standards.
- Serve as an expert resource for advice on infection prevention practices, providing guidance during new clinical program launches and risk assessments.
- Mentor and support junior staff in career development, infection control competencies, and continual performance improvement.
