Position Overview

The Treasury and Trade Finance Specialist will be responsible for managing the company’s banking relationships, trade finance operations, and cash flow requirements to support import and export transactions. This role involves ensuring smooth execution of financial instruments such as letters of credit (LC), bank guarantees, and foreign remittances, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and internal financial controls.

Key Responsibilities1. Treasury Management

• Monitor and manage daily cash flows, ensuring optimal utilization of funds across accounts.
• Coordinate fund transfers, foreign currency transactions, and cash forecasting.
• Maintain banking relationships and negotiate terms for loans, forex rates, and other treasury services.
• Support FX risk management through hedging and forward contracts when required.

2. Trade Finance Operations

• Handle all documentation related to Letters of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees (BG), and Bills for Collection.
• Liaise with banks for the opening, amendment, and negotiation of trade instruments.
• Review and verify import/export documentation in line with UCP600, FEMA, and RBI guidelines.
• Ensure timely realization of export proceeds and settlement of import bills.
• Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and logistics teams for trade-related financial settlements.

3. Compliance & Reporting

• Maintain strict adherence to regulatory and company policies related to international trade.
• Prepare and maintain records for bank audits, internal audits, and monthly MIS reporting.
• Assist in financial due diligence, working capital management, and cost optimization.
• Track and report foreign exchange gains/losses and manage related documentation.

4. Process Improvement

• Identify and implement process improvements in trade finance and treasury operations.
• Recommend digital tools and automation opportunities for better financial control and visibility.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Trade Finance instruments (LC, BG, Bill Discounting, Forex settlements).
• Hands-on experience with banking portals and ERP systems.
• Understanding of RBI, FEMA, and UCP600 regulations.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple transactions simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or related field.
• Preferred: MBA (Finance) / CA (Inter) / CMA (Inter) / Certification in Trade Finance.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in treasury or trade finance roles, preferably in import/export, FMCG, or agri-trade sectors.
