Role Overview
The SAP Commerce Test Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the quality and stability of a B2B and/or B2C SAP Commerce implementation.The role covers end-to-end testing across the storefront, OCC APIs, and Backoffice modules, validating functionality, data integrity, and integration touchpoints across the ecosystem.This position requires prior hands-on experience testing SAP Commerce Backoffice applications including product and catalog setup, order workflows, customer and organization management, and promotions.The tester will collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and solution leads to verify that all functional and Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) such as performance, reliability, and security are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prepare, and execute test cases and scripts covering storefront, OCC APIs, Backoffice modules, and system integrations.
- Validate Backoffice functionality and workflows, including product/catalog setup, synchronization, order creation and fulfillment, approvals, and promotions.
- Execute functional, regression, and integration testing for B2B and B2C storefront journeys.
- Validate integrations between SAP Commerce and external systems ERP, SAP BTP/CPI, OMS, and payment gateways.
- Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools, verifying OCC endpoints, authentication, and payload accuracy.
- Test key business scenarios such as tiered pricing, inventory visibility, quotes, checkout, and account-based access.
- Support deployment and upgrade validation, including regression coverage and post-release verification.
- Document test cases, maintain traceability, and report defects using standard tools such as Jira, TestRail.
- Collaborate with developers and analysts to clarify acceptance criteria, reproduce defects, and validate fixes.
- Participate in release readiness activities including smoke, regression, and UAT support testing.
Required Skills
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on testing experience in SAP Commerce (Hybris) projects.
- Proven experience testing SAP Commerce Backoffice applications, including product management, content management, order management, workflows, and promotions.
- Understanding of B2B and B2C storefront flows, including checkout, quotes, orders, and customer account management.
- Experience testing SAP Commerce OCC APIs and validating REST payloads and responses.
- Exposure to end-to-end integrations (ERP, OMS, Payment, SAP BTP/CPI).
- Strong understanding of functional, regression, and integration testing principles.
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
- Clear communication skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
Additional Advantage
- Exposure to SAP Commerce Cloud (CCv2) or cloud-based deployment pipelines.
- Basic experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Karate, Cypress, or similar).
- Ability to perform SQL-based validation for backend data checks.
- Understanding of security, reliability, and performance validation concepts (e.g., OAuth2, PCI, GDPR).
- Familiarity with CI/CD or automated test execution environments.
- Experience in multi-brand or multi-country SAP Commerce implementations
