Job Summary

The Test Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of web, mobile, and API-based applications. Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on experience in Katalon Studio or similar automation platforms (e.g., Selenium, TestComplete, Ranorex)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Katalon Studio or equivalent tools (such as Selenium, TestComplete, or Ranorex).
• Analyze requirements, identify test scenarios suitable for automation, and prioritize automation coverage for critical paths.
• Implement and maintain robust automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API testing.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with developers, QA leads, and DevOps to ensure comprehensive test coverage and smooth releases.
• Document test cases, outcomes, and defects. Generate regular reports on automation coverage, pass/fail rates, and defect trends.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and fix automation failures. Maintain scripts for reliability during frequent application changes.
• Participate in code reviews, suggest process improvements, and contribute to best practices for test automation.
• Coach and guide junior QA and developers in automation methodologies and tool use.
• Stay current with industry trends, tool updates, and emerging automation strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software test automation, preferably in web, mobile, and API testing domains.
• Proficiency with Katalon Studio, or hands-on expertise in equivalent tools like Selenium, TestComplete, or Ranorex.
• Strong skills in scripting languages (Java, Groovy, Python, or similar) used for automation.
• Solid knowledge of QA processes, STLC, BDD/TDD, and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience integrating automation with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.

Preferred

• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
• Knowledge of API testing (REST, SOAP) with tools like Postman, REST Assured, or within Katalon.
• Exposure to cloud-based test automation and Docker/Selenium Grid infrastructure.
