Job Description

documentation such as user guides, installation guides, release notes and help files for a range of complex software products. You will research and build knowledge about our products, services, technology, and concepts to be documented.

A Typical Day Might Involve

Participating in Agile scrum meetings and ceremonies
Reviewing development requirements to identify what needs to be incorporated in the documentation set
With other documentation team members, grooming documentation requirements to highlight the work required for current and future sprints
Speaking to product owners, business analysts or developers to clarify documentation requirements
Using the Insurance Risk Suite software to take appropriate screenshots for inclusion in the documentation
Editing existing documentation to add new functionality and features
Adhering to existing style guides and procedures
Working from home or in the office
Advocating for the end user at all times

What You Bring

Native-level English, with excellent people and communication skills
4+ years’ experience as a technical author, preferably in the enterprise software or finance fields
The ability to turn “developer-speak” and complex concepts into clear and concise information for end users
Familiarity with the Agile software development life cycle
Familiarity with project management software such as TFS, Jira or similar
Experience of working with and adhering to a writing style guide to improve consistency across the documentation set
Proficiency in MadCap Flare or other single-sourcing authoring tools is huge benefit
An understanding of HTML and CSS and the benefit of using styles
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word
Some experience of using content management systems such as SVN or GIT for source control
The ability to communicate effectively with all members of the team to get the information you need
Excellent attention to detail
Willingness to learn
