Technical Writer

• API & Schema Documentation: Proficient in documenting RESTful or GraphQL APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and managing JSON/XML schemas.
• Docs-as-Code Workflow: Managing documentation via Git (GitHub/GitLab) using Markdown or reStructuredText, following the same CI/CD branching and merging logic as developers.
• Information Modeling: Designing the underlying taxonomy and metadata structures to ensure content is programmatically searchable and reusable across different platforms.
• Component-Based Authoring: Utilizing DITA or XML-based authoring to create modular content "chunks" that can be repurposed across multiple manuals or UI strings.
• Scripting & Automation: Writing basic scripts (Python or Bash) to automate the generation of documentation from source code or to validate broken links and syntax.
• Release Coordination: Managing the "Release Notes" pipeline by tracking Jira tickets and ensuring every technical change is documented before the production push.
• UX Writing & Microcopy: Coordinating with UI/UX designers to write concise, technical "in-app" guidance and error messages that prevent user friction.
• Static Site Generators (SSG): Configuring and deploying documentation sites using tools like Docusaurus, Hugo, or Jekyll.
• Environment Familiarity: Navigating staging environments, CLI tools, and containers (Docker) to verify technical procedures firsthand before writing them.
• Knowledge Graph Management: Building internal wikis (Confluence, Notion) that use relational databases rather than flat pages to connect technical dependencies.
• Security & Compliance Literacy: Ensuring all technical documentation adheres to SOC2, GDPR, or ISO standards regarding data privacy and sensitive information.
• Telemetry Analysis: Using analytics (Google Analytics, Hotjar) to track which parts of the documentation users struggle with and coordinating "sprints" to fix those gaps.
