Description
As a Supplier Development Engineer at Eaton ESA Business group, your role involves managing, supporting, and guiding a team of Supplier Development Engineers to ensure flawless, efficient, and on-time compilation of PPAP Management Process across the Globe. Your responsibilities include: - Leading the PPAP Team to ensure flawless and on-time completion of projects - Training, mentoring, and motivating team members about processes and deliverables - Developing the PPAP engineers team efforts and facilitating coaching for performance - Facilitating common understanding between the team and stakeholders for requirements - Driving supplier training programs to meet supplier performance expectations per Eaton Supplier Excellence Manual (SEM) - Supporting suppliers in deploying quality systems tools and techniques - Applying strategic thought process for the expansion of the process to all ESA & GEIS Business plants - Facilitating regular management/stakeholder review/MIS reports - Encouraging and implementing a continuous improvement culture within the team and at the supplier end - Troubleshooting problem closures in coordination with stakeholders - Leading in publishing and communicating progress against GSCCoE goals - Acting as a liaison between suppliers and internal functions/plants to clarify Eaton business requirements - Understanding customer requirements and providing quick turnaround time on special project requests - Coordinating and assisting with corporate initiatives to drive best practices across Eaton sites - Driving the deployment of consistent supplier quality-related policies, processes, and procedures - Leading various improvement projects and acting as a SPOC for Group, customers, and Suppliers - Implementing measures to improve inspection methods, equipment/tool performance, product quality, efficiency, and morale Qualifications: - BE in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering/Electrical/Electronics - Minimum 12-15 years of experience in Manufacturing or Process Engineering Skills: - Experience in working with global customers and suppliers - Hands-on experience in supplier quality and supplier development - Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Sheet Metal, Molding, Machining, Casting, Forging, Welding, Electrical & Electronics - Working knowledge of statistical tools including SPC, Gauge R&R, and capability analysis - Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision making - Thorough knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Change Management, 8D process, and experience in conducting/taking actions from suppliers - Strong business acumen for dealing with cross-functional domains - Certified Six Sigma Green Belt and Certified Quality Professional/Manager of Quality from ASQ equivalent body would be advantageous Additional Details: - Effective communication and influencing skills with customers and suppliers - Interpersonal skills for building strategic partnerships with key stakeholders - Strong accountability, conflict management, and escalation management skills - Strong team management and team development skills - Time/priority management and presentation skills - Decision-making and analytical mindset - Effective collaboration and cross-cultural teamwork As a Supplier Development Engineer at Eaton ESA Business group, your role involves managing, supporting, and guiding a team of Supplier Development Engineers to ensure flawless, efficient, and on-time compilation of PPAP Management Process across the Globe.
