About The Team

Team directly supports the Associate Learning & Development team at SSC-M. Providing content development support and maintenance of courseware as required.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to partner with Learning Consultants and learning peers to design and develop learning solutions tied to business strategies that meet or exceed organizational objectives. This includes responsibility for understanding root cause business issues, facilitating conversations with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), determining appropriate learning modalities, project planning and developing complex, blended learning solutions. Specifically, this role will support the development of technology-focused curricula inclusive of highly technical content for Lowe’s Tech associates, as well as global AI, data, and digital fluency content for the enterprise. This role may also involve managing a small group of Instructional Designers. This role is critical to Lowe's because it ensures Lowe's associates are equipped with the confidence and competence to serve Lowe's customers.

Roles & Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:
  • Guides on learning approach, design and development of e-learning projects.
  • Manages Projects and Project Plans including timelines and resources.Consults with subject matter experts (SMEs) and key stakeholders to understand needs, create design documents, and gather insights that will ultimately impact the effectiveness of the learning solution.
  • Develops storyboardas and builds learning assets (ncluding online, classroom, virtual instructor-led training, e-learning, Learning Video, Learning Games, Learning Performance Support (Simulations, Assima, WalkMe), and blended Learning content.
  • Guides the prototyping and development approaches based on business need and schedule.
  • Ensures adult learning principles and a systematic instructional design process is applied to create learning content that best fits the needs of the learner (includes online, classroom, virtual instructor-led training and blended learning content).
  • Develops exercises, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or connected learning strategies.
  • Supports project kick off meeting to with the learning consultant and the SMEs to build an understanding of the project and work with the designers to set team expectations.
  • Advises on technological learning solutions and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of learning programs.
  • Leads and drives overall quality by Conducting quality checks and review for the learning assets.
  • Supporting in the role of manager for Learning Strategies when required on the business needs basis.
  • Identifies risks and proposes mitigation strategies to meet timelines.
  • Manages a small team of instructional designers guiding them towards successful project delivery.

Years Of Experience

  • Overall L&D experience of 6-8 years, designing learning experiences for global learners.
  • Experience in establishing credibility with HR Leaders and business executives through consulting.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and cross-functional skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with working knowledge of editorial requirements- grammar and instructional design of materials.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure quality.
  • Experience in developing learning solutions for global audience creating materials based on cultural needs and regional constraints.Ability to bring innovative Instructional design ideas and proposals to the team that can improve associate career development.
  • Ability to build strong organizational knowledge and understanding of the current gaps within capability development.
  • Advanced oral communication skills - ability to facilitate client SMEs and set expectations and ensure appropriate involvement.
  • Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven experience of managing people.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
