Mps is hiring for Team Lead- Alt Text role for Chennai (Work from office)
Role Summary:
The Team Lead – Alt Text will be responsible for managing and guiding a team of content authors, reviewers to produce high-quality alternative text (alt-text) descriptions for digital educational and scientific content. This role demands expertise in accessibility standards, process excellence, and stakeholder management to ensure timely, accurate, and WCAG-compliant project deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations
· Lead a team of Alt-text authors and reviewers, freelancers, ensuring productivity, quality, and adherence to project timelines.
· Oversee daily task allocation and workload balancing based on skill levels and project complexity.
· Define, monitor, and review team KRAs and KPIs; conduct regular performance feedback sessions (CFRs).
· Manage conflict resolution, motivation, and career development within the team.
Project & Process Management
· Plan, execute, and track end-to-end alt-text projects for global clients (academic, STM, and educational publishers).
· Ensure 99%+ quality compliance for in-house and vendor deliverables.
· Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions to continuously improve project outcomes.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams (technology, QA, operations, and client management) to streamline processes and meet client SLAs.
Technical & Accessibility Expertise
· Review and author alt-text descriptions for images, charts, and mathematical equations (including MathML).
· Ensure all content meets WCAG and EPUB accessibility standards.
· Collaborate with technology teams to implement automation tools for syntactic alt-text generation and QA validation.
Client & Vendor Management
· Act as a primary point of contact for client communications, ensuring transparency in progress, issues, and deliverables.
· Manage vendor relationships including RFP evaluation, cost estimation, and quality audits.
· Partner with client and sales teams for pilot projects and new business opportunities.
Training & Knowledge Management
· Develop and deliver structured training programs for internal teams and external vendors.
· Maintain and update SOPs, best practices, and knowledge databases for accessibility projects.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer applications or related field.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in content development and digital accessibility, including 1+ years in a team leadership role.
Technical Skills:
· Strong understanding of WCAG, EPUB, and accessible publishing workflows.
· Experience with MathML, LaTeX, and assistive technology testing.
· Familiarity with automation tools for content generation and quality control.
Soft Skills:
· Excellent communication and leadership skills.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities.
· Proficiency in English and Tamil. Hindi is added advantage.
Performance Indicators
· Team productivity and quality scores.
· On-time delivery rate and SLA adherence.
· Client satisfaction and retention.
· Successful implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives.
